Yea... I know

We owe you pictures soon. We know...

Babysitting and Weight Gains

Savannah had her first babysitter last night. That was weird. And nerve wracking. And good.

It is really, really weird to leave your baby at home for the first time. But we survived. And the babysitter survived. And most importantly, Savannah survived.

In other big news, Savannah is gaining weight! She was in for her 2-month appointment today, and she weighs 9 pounds, 8.5 ounces! That means she has gained 47 ounces in the last 50 days - almost an ounce a day!

Of course, she is still only in the 18th percentile. So still nice and tiny!

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures

I finally got around to posting new pictures...

We have the results of Savannah's first photo shoot.

And we have bunches of pictures from the last couple of weeks.

I gotta' say... my daughter is pretty stinkin' cute.

Feeding Frenzy.

I (DaddyLow) had the opportunity to feed Savannah yesterday.

Typically feeding is pretty difficult to do as a father, as I lack some of the requisite tools to do so. But yesterday Daddy gave Savannah a bottle for the first time, and it went well!

There is something special about being able to feed your child.

Easter Pics!

Just though you would want to know that Easter pics are up...

Some developments

Some recent developments:

  • Savannah did a 180 in her pack-n-play yesterday. Seriously. Her pacifier fell out, so she tried to get it, and spun herself around. She started with her feet facing south. She ended with her feet facing north. That is crazy.
  • She is awake. A lot. Too much. But that also means that she is very attentive to the things around here, which is very cool.
  • She is holding up her head for short periods. And then she acts like she is listening to some 80's hair band that demands headbanging. But she is getting there.

There is nothing quite like watching here grow and develop. I will miss her when I start back at work...

Savannah Smiles!

As Savannah begins to grow and develop, there are continually new occurrences in her life. The grabbing of the drawstring. The imitation of daddy with her tongue. The loss of her umbilical cord stump. Her starting to grow into, and maybe even out of, her clothes. Staying awake more. Staring at people and things.

But I must say that one of the most exciting developments so far has been to see a real smile from her. Over the last week or so we saw a few random smiles here or there. But then, on Saturday, she went all out. And smiled. And smiled. And smiled some more.

As if she wasn't already cute enough.

She took it to a whole new level.

You can see the proof here.
